Supporting the Whole Student

Creative education can be exciting, challenging, intensive and deeply personal.

At NIDA, Jack has worked alongside some inspiring colleagues to strengthen the systems that support students when things become difficult, with a focus on creating a more connected approach to wellbeing, early intervention and student support.

This work has included strengthening counselling and wellbeing services, reviewing policies and processes, improving pathways for students requiring additional support and helping teams better understand their role in supporting student wellbeing.

For Jack, supporting students does not mean removing every challenge from their education. It means creating an environment where students can take creative risks, navigate challenges, ask for help when they need it and know that there are people and systems around them to provide support.

Building those environments is an important part of creating a great educational experience.
