Jack Thomson, the current Towers Head Residents, at Charles Sturt University in Bathurst and the Towers Residential Advisors (8 student leaders) are running a social inclusion program, Towers - You Do You week, 2016, this week the 16th to the 20th of May.

The week aims to enhance the already prominent inclusive Towers environment, with a focus on being yourself everyday and unconsciously allowing others to do the same.

The team have created a social media campaign with over 20,000 likes and an even wider reach, a visual campaign and an events calendar for the week in the hope that a little bit of the inclusive, self appreciative aspects rub off on the rest of the world. The week long program involved a variety of events, social media platforms with the 'You do You' Snapchat Geofilter reaching almost 50,000 users.

Towers has a very rich history spanning 48 years for its 200 plus students, these students being unique and themselves has always been at the forefront of what Towers stands for.

Jack Thomson; ‘I have always wanted to aid in the creation and facilitation of everyday leaders, holding the position of Towers Head Resident since the start of the year, I have been able to surround myself with my amazing RA team and the Towers Residents. Together the RA’s and I created the concept behind ‘You Do You Week’ and now its here, and the response has been overwhelming. I really hope this week starts a conversation and more people start to embrace who they are and unknowingly allow others to do the same.’

Shannon O’Mara; Residential Advisor ‘You do you week encourages students going through some of the biggest changes in their lives to embrace their individuality and teaches them that uniqueness is what makes them individuals in a society of people taught to conform.’
